We've officially finished our fourth stop on our OZ experience adventure up the east coast! We made our way from Byron Bay (which we loved...did we say that already?) to Surfer's Paradise, a somewhat Vegas of the east coast. It had a gorgeous beach...but a thousand million people to go with it, so not quite as comfortable as Byron :) We got there just in time for
their version of Kin Games in Canada....a bunch of Australian universities gather at Surfer's and compete in sports and non-sports representing their university. We walked into a room full of smelly basketball players for our first night in our hostel! It was a disASTER area and it smelled like feet...we were like, we are definitely staying with boys!!! Luckily they left the next day so we only had to put up with the
smell and the snoring for one night. We watched a lot of beach volleyball (see pic) and laid on the beach for a couple days and even made it to a water park (see pic)!!! We also did a pub crawl with our canadian friends and had a good time doi
ng that :) One highlight was going up to the top of the Q1, which is the tallest residencial building in the world!!! We got a fantastic view of Surfer's from the 77th floor (see pic). Surfer's was a nice place to hang out for a couple days, but not a favorite necessarily...too many people and too plastic :)Yesterday afternoon we arrived in Brisbane at the cutest hostel ever!! It's right in the middle of downtown Brisbane, so close to everything...most importan
tly Starbucks:) Our room is super clean, and there's a bar right downstairs. The other Canadian girls got a better room with a balcony so we hung out in there :) (see pic). LH wanted to dye her hair and actually LET LT dye her hair last night! I mean, we ARE on a budget...BUT we're still talking, so it went ok!! We only have one day in Brisbane bec
ause we leave super early tomorrow morning for Noosa. We don'mind though because there's not a TON to do in Brisbane...it's just another big city, and there's no beach!! We're pretty pumped because today we booked our Fraser Island and our Whitsunday Islands Sailing trips!! All of this is happening in the next couple weeks, so it's gonna fly by! Before you know it we'll be back in the snow!!Miss you lots!

Hi L&L
Brisbane sounds like the least exciting place you've been to - but you managed to get to the best of it - pubs & 77 floors! ( I'm shuddering)
Smelly Feet - it's like driving Ben and his buddies home after hockey:) I hope you are stoked for the next installment - I hear Whitsunday and Fraser have wonderbar sailing. Thanks muchly for the pcards - really enjoyed them. Have fun and be safe -obtw-
Happy Thanksgiving! TTFN AHH KAAA
hey goils
just thought you'd like to know you're right about the snow, I drove thru it on the way to Fernie today...so keep enjoying that sun and surf scenario you are 'suffering' thru...I can hardly wait for the sailing pics...say.....these hostels sound kosy..what with the TEAM of Men's Basketball players and all. I like the sounds of the Brisbane Hostel way better. Curious to know what Noosa is all about, one Asics racing shoes is called the Noosa?? So are you becoming an Aussi beer officianado...what with the pub crawls or is that what you drink?
Happy Trails...

hehehe... yeah, Brissy has a reputation for being... let's see...how can I put this delicately... um, boring. Yeah, so no surprises that was a little uninspiring! On the upside, at least you got your voucher! And I think "plastic" is exactly the word to sum up Surfers - heh! Hopefully the rest of your trip will be more interesting! Anyway, I'm over !-ing again, so mwah - can't wait for nxt installment! :) xox to you both,
Anna
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
The city is a blaze of color right now---reds, yellows and all the shades in between.
Another pleasantly warm day and we have the family gettogether at your place tomorrow. We'll drink to you.
Many years ago we had friends who lived in Toowoomba and played in Byron and Surfers---- they were here for a holiday and would tell us of their escapades when they were "young and foolish"--nothing changes, only the people involved.
Still following you on the map travelling up the Gold Coast to your Island destination.
Imagine being able to say you swam in the Coral Sea and off the Great Barrier Reef---Crikey!!!
Sail On ladies---you will have a blast.
Do a little "hiking" for me.

One month my loves! Sad for you, good for me. I'm starting to really feel the impact of your evil decision to leave me for four months. Australia looks great - a holiday within a holiday. Enjoy and see you soon :) xoxo
